Ostara Altar

The Witches Cottage Team on Etsy began an Ostara Altar contest, so I thought it would be fun to add a few photos in.

We have the altar...

Purple Silk for Ostara, though the main focus of my alter is the Equinox. The dark and light sides for the Night/Day balance, along with the scrying mirror, as the equinox is an inbetween moment, where seeing and dreaming are fluid.

You will find on my altar, a black egg, with the Enochian symbols which represent the elements. The black egg, being the etheric, the energetic place where things begin. It speaks of the root beginings, before things manifest physically.

A Green candle to represent the earth, a yellow candle for the sun...together in a bed of earth and moss which represent the life/death cycles...with the Seal of Solomon lain on the earth. A new plant which has fresh roots growing...Anointing oil, with an offering of fresh rose petals (also fertility) Of course the wand, and a hand knapped black obsidian spear point as Athame, though we add in the actual sword. As well as the stones of Amethyst, Emerald, Obsidian and Quartz.

A closer look into the Night...with the black candle, and the polished Obsidian. The candle is set on a stone from a special place where I spent the night with the moon, for Equinox. The stone is rested on a handcrafted deep night blue glass, with dichroic starlight within it. With these, the night sky meets the earth.

A closer look into the Day...with the white candle, and the white Quartz. The candle is set in a Quahog (Wampum) shell, to represent, and remind of the gifts the ocean shares with us, and as wampum, to remember the beauty in giving. I have added a small bit of ocean salt into the shell as well...With these the sky meets the ocean, creating temperance.

And to the black egg...this not only represents fertility in all physical aspects, but in the etheric as mentioned above. The black oval also representing the Akasha. I have added the Blue circle for Air, movement, and breath...A red triangle for Fire and Light...A silver crescent for Water...and a yellow square for Earth.

Last photo...the Altar at night.

The altar in these photos, is a clear representation of my personal altar, however, it is not the actual one. There are things on my personal altar, which I NEVER photograph, and they are not ever left in the view of others.

The Scrying mirror in these photos, is one I have made for sale. It has not been cleansed and charged yet, for after doing this it would not be available for photos :)
It is for sale, and can be found in my Etsy shop NewMoonTarot
